Yes, you read that title right. Barkour, a game developed by indie developer VarsaV, features secret agents…but with dogs. You play as a dog that goes by Agent T.H.U.N.D.E.R, and you embark (get it?) on an epic spy adventure to save the world.
The first game trailer premiered at Gamescom back in 2024. I’m glad that it’s still in the works and it hasn’t been forgotten. Indie games have been on the rise for many years, and I see no signs of it slowing down.

If you watched the trailer above, one of those mischievous cats is named Vander Meow. Yes, Vander Meow. If the rest of the bad guys you are facing are as kooky as that, then I think we’re in for a good time. In fact, this is giving me Cats and Dogs vibes. Anyone else remember that movie from 2001 about the canine secret agents going against evil cats?
Anyways, while the trailer only gives us a sneak peek at its story, the publisher’s website explained that the game will cater to your playstyle. You can go the true spy way and be all sneaky snake or go in “guns blazing.” Which, I quite like because your girl is a bit impatient sometimes. Blame the trigger fingers.
As the title suggests, you’ll be doing parkour as well. The website mentions that you will get gadgets to make you the official canine to possibly rival 007 (if he were, you know, a dog).
No official release date yet, but there is a demo. I’ll definitely be checking it out, since, you know, adorkable doggos.
